Regulatory Compliance Engineer

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Regulatory Compliance Engineer to join our Client’s dynamic team. As a Regulatory Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the product certification process and ensuring regulatory compliance with all necessary standards. This role involves collaboration with various internal teams, external third-party service providers, and regulatory bodies to guarantee the delivery of safe and reliable products to target customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify applicable regulations, conduct necessary testing, prepare applications, and coordinate tests with external labs, vendors, and internal resources for full certifications and compliance.
  • Manage product certification and regulatory compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory, design, and safety standards for the supply of safe and reliable products globally.
  • Incorporate product certification requirements into the entire product development lifecycle, from R&D and prototype testing to commercial launch in global markets.
  • Provide expert theoretical and practical legislative awareness to support R&D and sales teams, with a detailed understanding of assigned market regions.
  • Oversee the product certification process both internally and with external regulatory bodies, customers, and testing facilities.
  • Maintain certification and product quality plans and procedures.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing regulatory input to development teams and offering engineering analysis to policy and business groups.

Education/Work Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in engineering, science, or a quality discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in similar roles in the Automotive Industry
  • Practical experience in delivering complex product certifications within an engineering/manufacturing business.
  • Knowledge of engineering or environmental European and North American standards with a willingness to adapt to regulatory changes.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to research technical standards and approach problem-solving in a structured manner.
  • Effective technical report writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in English listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Capable of hosting English meetings alone and communicating effectively with customers.
